Supermassive Games, the developer behind the likes of Little Nightmares III, Until Dawn, and The Dark Pictures Anthology, has announced it is to be begin a “redundancy consultancy process”.

This, according to the studio, will result in the loss of up to 75 employees, with Supermassive calling it a necessary step to ensure the “sustainability of the company”.

Here’s a look at the full announcement:

“We have made the difficult decision to begin a redundancy consultancy process, which we anticipate will result in the loss of up to 75 of our colleagues. This is a necessary step to help ensure the sustainability of the company.

“We know this will be an incredibly difficult time for everyone, and our priority throughout the process will be to provide support to all those impacted.”

Little NIghtmares III received slightly more mixed reviews compared to the first two entries from developer Tarsier Studios. In our own 6/10 review, we said that it “faithfully preserves the oppressive mood, clever environmental puzzles, and visceral unease associated with the series, but feels like an echo of what came before”.

This is the third round of layoffs from Supermassive in three years, after it let go 90 people back in February 2024, then another 36 people in July 2026.
