Before you walk the plank and dive into the deep end of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, there’s one early-game item that’s a total time-saver for both prospective sailors (those who haven’t started the game yet) and veteran pirate legends (those who are planning 100% completionist runs).
This being an Assassin’s Creed game from the open-world fanatics at Ubisoft, Black Flag Resynced is expectedly massive. A full completionist run can easily take up to and over 60 hours to beat once you fold in all the enemy forts, sunken treasure, side quests, collectibles, and unlockable upgrades.
Worry not, freebooter, as there’s a trinket called Exotic Sea Shells that can help shave that time down quite nicely. When equipped, Exotic Sea Shells “increases the wildlife products gained from skinning animals” – resources used for both unlocking upgrades and outfits.
Best part, you can find the trinket super early on. In southeast Havana, to be exact. To be even more exact, you can head to the coordinates 213, 568 and find a treasure chest containing the Exotic Sea Shells there. (Thanks, Game8!) As one fan puts it on Twitter, “this is one of the best trinkets you can get early” in the remake.
Grinding and hunting for pigs, let’s say, should be over much quicker with a seashell necklace on hand (I love video game logic), as should getting all of the game’s outfits and upgrades, which are tied to how many animals you can skin and how many sea beasts you can harpoon.
Just make sure you don’t fall victim to a bug that can wipe hours off your Black Flag Resynced save file, OK?
