While we weren’t too hot on the 2025 soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, it was a hit for Chinese developer Leenzee and publisher 505 Games, reaching five million players across all platforms. However, a report from the Chinese publication Gamersky earlier this year claimed that the game’s director and producer, Xia Siyuan, had been fired from Leenzee. A number of staff were also reportedly let go.
Although the Wuchang IP was then sold to 505 Games’ parent company, Digital Bros, for around $4.6 million back in April, the future of the series was left up in the air until today: 505 Games just announced that Siyuan is working on a sequel with his new studio, Indolphinity.

Of course, it depends on how this sequel pans out, but it sounds like those involved have high hopes for this up-and-coming soulslike. Digital Bros co-CEO Raffi Galante chimed in to say that they “strongly believe in Wuchang as a long-term global franchise.”
While very few soulslikes can go toe to toe with FromSoftware, it’s nice to know that Wuchang isn’t being left to rot, and that its original team is getting another shot after all.
